December is upon us and I still can’t believe how much great music has been released this year. I can’t wait for what 2017 has in store for us. This will also be my last blog for the top songs of each month as I will be transitioning into V-Logs. My first V-Log will also be the first ever AMA’s! No, it doesn’t stand for American Music Awards. It stands for the ACAM Music Awards, where I tell you my picks for the best songs, artists, albums of 2016! For now, let’s finish up the best new songs of 2016 of December!

This song really makes itself stand out because of its superb lyrics. This ballad is about an emotional roller coaster of a love affair. The dark melody perfectly compliments Camila’s voice and ensures the listeners about the physical and emotional tension between the couple they’re talking about. This song will be heard a lot on the radio over the next coming months.
I just recently saw the film, “Moana”. First of all, I recommend the film to everyone but the songs were awesome. Especially this one. The genius Lin-Manuel Miranda, the man behind the hit musical, “Hamilton”, also wrote the lyrics for the entire movie. This could be the next “Let It Go”. I also suggest checking out Alessia Cara’s cover of this song.
The deep house/future house producer is back again with a different style. This time, it sounds more like a disco track. The “good vibes” lyrics and addition of the violin really makes the song infectious. Excellent song to shuffle and dance to!
12 years old…12 years old and contains a stunning voice that is being compared to the likes of Norah Jones and Taylor Swift. Grace Vanderwaal got the Golden Buzzer on “America’s Got Talent” and then the internet blew up. Did I mention she wrote the lyrics to this song and the rest of her EP?! Wow! I honestly hope she eclipses Taylor Swift and becomes the next big artist.
I only discovered “Justice” a couple of weeks ago because they just released their album, Woman and they were on the Phase 1 Lineup for Ultra Music Festival in March. I just really enjoy different sounding music. “Justice” is a combination rock, funk and disco. They are psychedelic and unique. Check out the rest of their album, Woman!
I wasn’t alive when real hip hop was invented but I can tell A Tribe Called Quest were a legendary group judging by their sixth and final album. On “We the People.…”, Q-Tip adds new samples, creative bars and some nostalgia to make this song a great blast from the past. Rest in Peace Phife.
Another catchy jingle to add to Robin Schulz and David Guetta’s resume. The song has a lovely string section. One of the better Guetta songs in my opinion. Over the past weekend, I attended a concert and Cheat Codes coincidentally opened for the headliners. They actually previewed this song. Hope everyone enjoys “Shed A Light”!
A remake of the remake that is so good. Back in 1983, Bryan Adam’s hit song, “Heaven” was first premiered while he was opening up for the legendary band, Journey. In 2000, DJ Sammy did his own remake of that song, and it was a dance-floor hit. Dash Berlin decided to put his own twist to this classic. The same elements are still present, making this remake another unforgettable track. It also features the original singer in the DJ Sammy version.
This guy has been one of the biggest EDM acts over the past year. After his massive hit, “Alone”, the mysterious future trap producer is back with his best song to date. “Ritual” is the name of his current tour hence the magnitude of this song. The song is sung by the “Ten Feet Tall” singer, Wrabel. He reminds me a lot of Sam Smith, a perfect voice for dance music. You won’t hear this on the radio but be sure to check out this awesome song out!

1.) Party Monster by the Weeknd
the Weeknd just recently released his full length album, “Starboy”. “Party Monster” is one of my favorite songs off this album. This is the emotional, catchy music that i’m used to hearing from the Weeknd. The music video is three minutes long but to hear the whole song, you’ll have to buy the song. I also highly suggest listening to the other Daft Punk collaboration, “I Feel It Coming”.
