August has just concluded but the hot weather looks like its not stopping in September. From a music stand-point, this isn’t the best time to release new material. Who wants to release songs just when summer is over?! But we did get a few good songs this month. Not only will you hear the best new songs but I round up My Top Ten Songs of the Summer.

Everyone in the late 1990s and early 2000s are really re-surging this year. First it was Blink 182, then Britney Spears, and now the Backstreet Boys. You probably won’t see this at the top of the charts but still waiting to hear some vintage Backstreet Boys in the near future.
Vassy has always been a reliable source of talent when I see her name featured in a song. “Nothing to Lose” is another great song produced by Tiesto and Vassy. The music video is really cool and not just because it takes place in Asbury Park! Represent Jersey!
Ariana just released another unique single a couple of days ago and it’s amazing…again. It’s got a really cool hip hop / reggae sound  that will clearly make you bob your head. Check it out!
Audien is notorious for making songs that hit you right in the feels. This time he experiments with some future bass style and he kills it again. Another fantastic song from one of my favorite DJs.
The Suicide Squad Soundtrack just got released this August and it’s sure to be one of the best of the year. Heathens is one of the best off the album. If you haven’t seen Suicide Squad yet, first of all go see it. Second of all, the film finishes with this song. Twenty One Pilots once again brings that eerie sound to their music. Everyone has been really loving this band over the past year and I’m sure they poised for Fall Out Boy status within the next year.
My Top Ten Songs of Summer 2016 (AKA the Summer of Slow Jams)
I’m constantly checking the radio, iTunes and Billboard to find out who’s the new up and coming artist and see what the chart-breakers are up to. Another great resource for me are are my friends and family. I love when people come up to me to show me a new song that they can’t keep out of their head. My brother, Jake, has always helped me with finding new songs and we had a chance to form our opinion on the best songs of the summer (Hint: No Justin Beiber songs made the list)
