Friday night, November 25th I had the honor of not only DJing and MCing for Brian and Brianne at The English Manor but I also officiated their wedding ceremony. To say this turned out to be an unforgettable evening for me is actually understating the point. Some couples you just click with and are privileged to work for. Brian and Brianne are one of those couples.
It was Thanksgiving weekend but you never would have known it from the weather. It was unseasonably warm and so the ceremony was able to take place outside. There’s no better spot for an outdoor ceremony than the bucolic gardens at The English Manor. Brian and Brianne also had our sister company Elite Digital Images shooting the wedding and I’ve added a few of their shots in this blog. To see even more, click here for their photo album on Facebook. Carrie and Chris got some excellent pictures.
I also happened to know a few people at this wedding. Brianne as it turns out is a runner and she knows a number of my running friends, specifically Dave Nase who is not only a fellow runner but DJ in the area. It was cool to have him in attendance and fun to see him cutting loose on the dance floor.
For me the most memorable part of the night was the ceremony itself. When I officiate I give my couples about a dozen questions to answer about their relationship so I can personalize the opening of their ceremony. I like to try to make it a little humorous if I can because I find laughter adds to the moment and can break the tension if the couple is a little nervous standing up there in front of their family and friends. With Brian and Brianne I didn’t have to go out of my way to make their opening funny. They gave me some hilarious answers that I simply incorporated into their ceremony. Carrie got some awesome shots of these moments where I must have said something that made everyone laugh. The expressions on both of their faces is priceless! Another thing I loved about their ceremony was the musicians they had. It was a father-daughter combination of Irish musicians and they were awesome. You can find the dad, David Anderson on Facebook.
Like I said in the beginning of this post, I loved working with Brian and Brianne and I’m delighted that the feeling was mutual. Brianne left me this very complimentary WeddingWire review:
