If there were ever a DJ on our staff who was in it simply for the love of music, it would have to be Joe Oh. Joe MCed with us between 2003 and 2009 when he decided to leave to work in the clubs. He spent 5 years doing just that, spinning everywhere around the tri-state area from New York City ‘s Pacha and Governors Island to Bliss and Avenue here in New Jersey. He also had the chance to spin with some legendary DJs like Louie Devito, R3hab and Denny Tsettos. While mixing at night he also got into producing his own music and making remixes. All for the love of music.
As Joe tells us, “I grew up playing the guitar and became really fascinated with electronic music around 17 years old and since that time my interest in music has grown for all different types of genres.” He loves nothing more than “Seeing the dance floor packed and everyone getting down to the music.”
Now that Joe is back to MCing for Elite his focus has returned to private parties and especially weddings: “the love of family and friends and the Bride and Groom coming together on their first day as husband and wife is really something special. There is always an amazing type of energy and excitement that goes along with a wedding.”
During the week Joe is a commercial contractor (“we do various renovations and installations”) and a bit of a sports fanatic as well (although as he explains: “I’m very depressed about it as my main rooting interests are the Mets, Islanders, Jets, and Knicks.”) But he’s never far from music and that’s why Joe is a great Elite Entertainer.
