After a 3 week vacation it was great to get back to doing my life’s work: Entertaining People.
I was thrilled that Kaitlin and Victor were my first couple back. They are two awesome and amazing people and their reception was a great example of what happens when you fill a room with family and friends who love you, and then give them a reason to party!
Kaitlin and Victor had chosen The Great Gatsby as their theme and I loved how thoroughly they incorporated it. Between the decorations, the signs and even most of their guests dressing the part, I felt like I was DJing in that speak-easy from the movie. All we needed was a Leonardo DiCaprio appearance to top it off.
Kaitlin and Victor held their reception at David’s Country Inn all the way up in Hackettstown. Even though I’d only played there once before (and it was many many years ago), the staff greeted me warmly and we worked together very well, specifically maître d’ Rob whose sarcasm let me know right away that we were going to get along well. When he asked me if I was ending at 10:30 and I replied “no I’m booked till 12:30” (which would have meant two hours overtime) he snapped back “hey that’s usually my joke.”
I want to use this space to say congratulations to Kaitlin and Victor and wish them all the luck in the world in their new lives together.
