Alex CameronI can’t believe were already halfway through the year! It’s crazy how fast this year is going by! Amazing! June has just concluded and the kids are finally out of school. You could say the beach was fun while it lasted. Hopefully everyone gets a nice tan for their weddings!
Another track off of DJ Khaled’s soon-to-be biggest album, “Major Key”. The album is set to be released at the end of July and fans are really excited about it. If you follow him on snapchat, this album will be the “key to success”. (Hence the album name)
I don’t remember the last time Usher released a song. I always think “Yeah!” was the last and biggest song. I still enjoy this one, even though it doesn’t have that Usher unique sound.
This song is off the “Suicide Squad” soundtrack and it is your typical walk up song. It’s slow paced and eerie which is appropriate for the movie featuring a bunch of villains.
I had to do a double take when I read this song title. My first instinct was “everybody we know dies.” Thankfully, it wasn’t! This is my country selection of June and I love it. It has got that typical country story background in it but I think its appropriate for Chase Rice. The guitar rift is my favorite section of this song.
If you couldn’t tell already, I love Dillon Francis. He’s one of my favorite DJs and inspirations because he blends comedy and quality music. Every DJ should have an element of each in their repertoire. “Candy” is his newest single and it has another infectious moombahton sound to it.
I saw this young Norwegian DJ last year and I was pleasantly surprised with his set. It was a mid-day set and just perfectly set up the rest of the day. Becky Hill’s addition really adds something else to this song. The lyrics are so deep and it’s a beautiful blend. His debut album “Hakuna Matoma” is now available on iTunes! Check it out!
During the biggest time of the year on the main stage at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas, legend Tiesto brought out John Legend in front of over 50,000 attendees. He brought Legend out to debut their new song they’ve been working on.  I really like this song because it’s a nice soulful take on pop music. Tiesto continues to experiment with different genres and is always on top of his game. Check out the link of the live performance at EDC!  Our owner, Mike Walter, must love this song too because I notice he started his summer mix he just uploaded to Sound Cloud with it.
The “Stitches” singer is at it again with another great single. Just simply a great song to jam out to in the car. This kid is bound for success and will most likely be as huge as Charlie Puth by next year. Possibly an album on the way? We shall see.
Nostalgia once again. blink 182’s highly anticipated album is coming out in July and they’re going on tour with huge supporting acts. All of the 90s babies are going crazy and already loving songs like “Bored to Death” off their album, California. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the album.
Bob Marley’s “Is This Love” has been remixed, remade, re-edited so many times its ridiculous. I “love” this remake. It keeps the chill vibe to it while keeping a consistent beat. This song just screams summer to me.
So usually at the bottom of my top monthly picks, I like to put my favorite remixes, EDM, etc. But last weekend, I went to another amazing festival called Electric Forest. It was up in Rothbury, Michigan and as you could

probably tell, the whole Forest was lit up. I couldn’t believe how they did it. Every detail was so unique and the people attending just added to the vibe. Another reason why I love going to music festivals. I love meeting new people from all over the place. I even met someone from Ireland! Amazing! Well instead of posting a favorite song I discovered over the weekend, I just encourage you the reader to go to a music festival of any kind. It can be in Asbury Park or New York. But I just encourage you to find new music and new discoveries in the process. I found a new appreciation for the jam bands, reggae and other EDM genres at Electric Forest. Ferris Bueller once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” Don’t miss out on a life-changing experience!
