I was looking through some pictures recently that our sister company, Elite Digital Images, had taken at a wedding and I was moved by two shots of the parent’s dances.  In the first, the bride is dancing with her father and the groom is looking on lovingly.

In the second, the groom is dancing with his mother and the bride has a similar look of admiration.

I have to say I see this often at weddings.  But not all the time.  Sometimes I’ll see the groom grabbing a drink while his new wife dances with her father.  And other times the bride will be chatting away with her bridesmaids while her new husband dances with his mother. In my opinion, that’s a missed moment.  These are special dances and they should be appreciated for all the emotion they can evoke.  And if you hire a photographer who is skilled and aware enough to grab the pictures that Lynn and Chris got in this blog, it’s a moment that will be saved forever.

So if your wedding is coming up and you are each going to be dancing with a parent, make sure to watch your partner’s dance.  It’s a lovely moment that shouldn’t be missed by anyone.
