Mike and Christina got married at The Tides up in North Haledon.  They had their ceremony there and then celebrated with family and friends.  I had DJed Mike’s sister’s wedding ten years ago which is how they found Elite and they loved the convenience of booking all three services with one company so they also hired Elite Digital Images and Elite Films.

I’ve always been a bit sentimental when it comes to the end of the year.  I start thinking things like, “this is my last _______ of the year” so I was very well aware as I drove up to North Haledon that this was my last wedding of 2016.  When I met with Mike and Christina to plan out their reception I even mentioned this fact to them and they assured me their family and friends were ready to party and that my last wedding of 2016 would be a memorable one.  Wow, were they right!

The wedding started with a beautiful ceremony officiated by Christina‘s brother Anthony.  He had gotten ordained just for the occasion.  This is something we are seeing more and more and I even wrote a blog about it a while back.  Anthony did a great job.  You’d have never known it was his first ceremony.  After that the guests enjoyed an amazing cocktail hour (The Tides puts out some spread!) then it was time to dance!  After introductions and Mike and Christina‘s first dance (to “Stolen” by The Dashboard Confessionals – what a great song!) Christina danced with her father to a mash-up I’d made for her.  They started out slow dancing to “Fascination” by Nat King Cole then ended with “Danza Kuduro” by Don Omar.  When it was over and the guests went wild I said, “just in case you weren’t sure if it was going to a party tonight, there’s your answer.”  That moment certainly set the tone for a great celebration.

I LOVE working with our photography and video companies.  There’s a mutual understanding we all have where each one knows what the other is about to do without even uttering any words.  We’ve all worked together so often that we know each others’ styles and approaches.  Lynn and Chris from Elite Digital got some amazing pictures.  I’ve included a few here but also check out the album they uploaded to Facebook to see a lot more.  And I’m sure Chris and Joe from Elite Films got awesome footage as well.  I’ll share what I get from them some time down the road.

Mike and Christina’s celebration was a memorable one (and not just because it was my last 2016 wedding).  As a DJ I can always feel when there is a genuine love for the bride and groom in the room and it often translates to a great celebration.  That was the mood in the room for Mike and Christina and it made for a great party.  Hope I don’t have to wait ten more years to celebrate with this family again!

Chris and Lynn from our photo division got some pictures of me “in action” at the wedding. Christina and Mike had asked for a few line dances, Cupid Shuffle and The Wobble, so of course I got out there and led the dances and counted off the steps.
